These templates take the guesswork out of making an EA FC style football card. The layout is ready: overall rating at the top, a short position code beside it, a space for the player's photo and six attribute boxes underneath. You add the details. Upload a photo and we remove the background, type in the numbers and check the preview. When it looks right, choose a size from A5 to A0, A5 up to A0, and order. Every card is printed to order and cut to its outline.
Filling in the template
Start with the photo and zoom until the head and shoulders fill the space. Then add the name as the player is known, the overall rating and a position code. Finally, work through the six attributes in order.
A short name works best. If the player is known by a surname or nickname at the club, use that rather than the full name, and it will sit more cleanly on the card.
A quick guide to ratings
If you are not sure where to start, rate each attribute out of 99 against players of the same age and level. A strong under-12s midfielder might be 80 for passing even though a Premier League player would be 95.
The overall rating can be the average of the six, rounded up for a birthday. Whatever you choose, use the same method for everyone in the squad.
Common position codes
GK goalkeeper, CB centre back, LB and RB full backs, CDM defensive midfield, CM central midfield, CAM attacking midfield, LW and RW wingers, ST striker. Short codes fit the template best.
For a goalkeeper, swap the usual attributes for diving, handling, kicking, reflexes, positioning and speed so the card reads correctly.
For whole squads
Coaches making cards for a team can use the same template for everyone, so the set matches. Team orders let parents add their child's photo through a shared link.
On a Saturday morning grassroots side, a card for every player, including those who mostly sit on the bench, is a gift parents tend to remember long after the final whistle.
Choosing a size
A5 suits a desk or bedside shelf, A4 and A3 are popular for bedroom walls, and A1 or A0 makes a bold centrepiece for a clubhouse. Prices start from £18.00.
Checking before you order
Before ordering, read the preview carefully. Check the spelling of the name, that the position code is right and that the attributes add up to the overall rating you intended. It takes a minute and saves any disappointment when the card arrives.
Questions, answered
Do I need design skills?
No. The template is ready; you add the photo and details and check the preview.
How should I work out the overall rating?
Many people average the six attributes and round up. It is entirely up to you, as long as you use the same approach for every card in the set.
Can I use the template for a goalkeeper?
Yes. Set the position to GK and use goalkeeping attributes such as diving, handling and reflexes.
Can I see the result before ordering?
Yes. The preview updates as you type, so you can check the rating, position code and spelling before you order.
