Athletic Club are unlike any other side in Spanish football. For more than a century they have built their teams from Basque players, and San Mamés, known as the Cathedral, is one of the loudest grounds in Spain. This card takes its colours from Athletic and puts your player at its heart. Add a photo, a name, a position and six stats, check the preview and pick a size from A5 to A0. It suits a Basque family in Britain, a fan who admires the club's loyalty, or a home grown player at your own club.
A card for a home grown player
Athletic's identity is built on players from their own region. That makes this a great card for someone who has come through your local club from the age of six: stats like seasons at the club, appearances and goals tell that story well.
Photos and colours
We remove the background from the photo, so the player sits cleanly on the design. Players in white, black or dark tops stand out well against red. A sharp, well lit face is the most important thing.
Language on the card
Every word is free text. Basque families sometimes write the position or a nickname in Euskara, and Spanish works just as well. Check spellings in the preview before ordering.
Sizes
Choose from A5 to A0, starting at £18.00. A small A5 card makes a thoughtful gift for a long serving player, while A3 suits a bedroom and an A1 or A0 print gives a home grown squad a proper place on the clubhouse wall. The card is cut to its shape and printed to order.
A gift for a loyal supporter
Athletic fans are known for sticking with the club through every season, whatever the result. A card for a supporter who has done the same with your local team makes a good thank you. Use the stats for years supporting, away trips made and matches missed (ideally zero), and give it at an end of season do.
A card for a goalkeeper
Athletic have a long tradition of producing outstanding goalkeepers, and Basque keepers have often been first choice for Spain too. This design suits the player who spends the match between the posts. Give them stats a keeper will appreciate: saves, clean sheets, penalties stopped, catches claimed and shouts heard across the pitch. A gloves on action shot works well, as does a simple portrait. It makes a good reward for a goalkeeper who is often overlooked when the goals go in at the other end.
