The card maker is where every CardStar card starts. Pick a design for your sport, upload a photo and the editor removes the background for you. Add the player's name, position and six stats, and watch the preview update as you type. When it looks right, choose a size, from A5 for a desk to A0 for a wall, and order. If none of the 127 designs fits, Create your own lets you choose the card shape and background yourself. Every card is made to order and cut to its own outline, so it ends up looking like a real player card, not a flat print.
Step one: choose a design
Designs are grouped by sport, so start with the one the player plays. Each has its own frame, colors and layout for the photo, name and stats. Football, basketball, tennis, golf, ice hockey, boxing, swimming and more are covered, along with nation flag cards.
If you want something completely different, Create your own lets you pick the shape of the card and the background behind the player. That is handy when you want to match a team's colors or a school mascot.
Step two: add the photo
Upload a clear photo of the player. The editor removes the background automatically, so you do not need a plain wall behind them. Move and zoom the photo until the player sits well in the frame.
A sharp, well-lit face gives the best result. A game or practice shot with the whole upper body visible usually looks better than a cropped selfie, and a phone picture taken outdoors in daylight is plenty.
Step three: name, position and stats
Type the name the player goes by, then a position. Then fill the six stats. They can be real numbers from a season or something more personal, like Hustle or Snacks Brought. The preview updates instantly, so try a few versions before you settle.
The position line can hold a role, a title or a nickname, whichever suits the person and the gift.
Step four: size and order
Choose a size from A5 to A0. Smaller cards suit gifts and desks, while larger ones go on walls, with A1 and A0 big enough for a clubhouse or gym. Prices start from $22.00. The card is printed on 5 mm EcoBoard once you order and delivered worldwide.
Tips for a better card
Keep the name short enough to read at a glance. Use stats that mean something to the player, even if they are not game data. Pick a design whose colors suit the photo, and zoom in until the face is a good size in the frame. Finally, read every field in the preview before ordering, especially spellings and jersey numbers.
If you are making a set for a team, use one design for everyone so the cards read as a group. A manager can place a team order, and parents can add their own player's photo through a shared link.
Before you order
Open the preview and read it the way the recipient will: name first, then the photo, then each stat. Check that no label is cut off, that the face is not too small and that the position line says what you intended.
If the card is a gift, think about where it will hang. A desk, a bedroom wall and a clubhouse call for different sizes, and the preview looks the same at every size, so you can decide that last.
Questions, answered
Do I need design skills?
No. The designs are ready made. You add the photo and the details, and the card maker handles the layout.
What is Create your own?
It lets you choose the card shape and the background yourself, instead of starting from one of the ready-made designs.
Can I edit the card after adding the photo?
Yes. You can change the photo, name, position and stats before you order, and the preview shows every change.
What makes a good photo?
A sharp, well-lit photo where the player's face is clear. The editor removes the background, so the setting does not matter.
